Purdue hits game-clinching field goal in OT to cap off wild victory against Tennessee
The Music City Bowl has surely been the best bowl game yet, and in the end, it was Purdue who came out victorious.
The Boilermakers hit a game-winning field goal in overtime after they stopped the Vols on 4th and goal from the 1-yard line. That stop was very controversial as it looked like Tennessee had scored, but forward progress was stopped before the ball broke the plane.
Crazy. @BoilerFootball chips off a field goal for the win. @Vol_Football thought they had scored, but the officials said forward progress had stopped on this play #Tennessee #Volunteers #GoVols #MusicCityBowl #Touchdown #CFB

This was a wild back-and-forth affair as it seemed like it was going to go on forever.
Tennessee took a 21-7 lead into the 2nd quarter before Purdue scored 16 unanswered points to lead 23-21 at halftime.
From there, the 2nd half was total chaos. There were 46 combined points scored in that latter half as both teams kept trading long touchdowns.
In the end, the Boilermakers pulled it out and finished 9-4, while the Vols finished their season at 7-6.
