Purdue Head Coach Jeff Brohm shared updates on position battles and injured players on Thursday with the Boilermakers set to take on the Missouri Tigers in Columbia on Saturday.

Brohm said junior RB Markell Jones is unlikely to play on Saturday after suffering a knee injury in the team’s Week One loss to Louisville.

“Hopefully he gets back next week,” the coach added.

The junior back rushed for 875 yards and 10 touchdowns as a freshman.

The coach also indicated that both of Purdue’s quarterbacks are going to see action against a Missouri defense that has struggled to get off the field in its first two games.

“We will have to play well at that position to win,” he added.

While QB Elijah Sindelar has started both of the Boilermakers’ first two games of the season, QB David Blough has put up better numbers with a yards per attempt average that more than doubles Sindelar’s.

  • Blough: 29 completions/39 attempts for 410 yards with 5 TDs and 2 INTs
  • Sindelar: 20 completions/42 attempts for 178 yards with 3 TDs and 1 INTs

Purdue will take on Missouri at 3:00 p.m. CST on Saturday in a game that will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
