Omoruyi’s return is huge news for the Scarlet Knights. Last season, he averaged 13.2 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. He also blocked 2.1 shots per contest. He was one of the most productive centers in the Big Ten last season.

Listed at 6-foot-11, Omoruyi has the size and motor to eventually play in the NBA. Instead of entering the league this summer, he will return to Rutgers as one of the most experienced bigs in the conference.

Omoruyi has started 72 games for the Scarlet Knights over the past 3 seasons.

Rutgers missed the NCAA Tournament this past season, but made it in Omoruyi’s first 2 years with the program. Rutgers has never made the tournament 3 times in a 4-year span in program history.
