Rutgers is starting to turn some heads with a strong start in B1G play!

On Tuesday, the Scarlet Knights hosted No. 20 Penn State. The Nittany Lions led at halftime, but a huge second half by Rutgers powered by Ron Harper Jr. led the Knights to a big upset win!

That win pushed Rutgers’ winning streak to six with the last loss by the Knights coming on the road at Michigan State. Since that time, Rutgers has upset Seton Hall and Penn State while improving to 3-1 in B1G play.

According to BTN, the 12-3 overall start is also the best for Rutgers since 1975!

Believe it or not, Rutgers is already closing in on its best win total since joining the B1G. As it currently stands, the best win total for the Scarlet Knights since joining the B1G is 15 in 2016-17 and 2017-18. The highest number of conference wins in B1G play is seven from last season.

As it currently stands, Rutgers looks like an early contender in conference play. The Knights will move on to play Illinois this Saturday.
