Former Wisconsin Badger and 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year recipient T.J. Watt is preparing for a hopeful return soon for the Pittsburgh Steelers. During warmups of Pittsburgh’s road game versus AFC North rival Cleveland Browns, Watt was seen sprinting and doing an extensive workout.

And that’s on top of his recent pectoral injury that was deemed to be serious:

Watt was injured with a pectoral strain in the fourth quarter of Pittsburgh’s 23-20 overtime win over AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals. He was having a great performance as he accounted for 6 solo tackles, 1 sack, 3 three for loss, 1 pass breakup, and an interception.

Fortunately, Watt avoided a torn pectoral injury that would have forced him to miss the entire 2022 NFL season. Instead, he will hopefully be back toward the end of October or early in November.

Last season, Watt accounted for 64 total tackles, 48 solo tackles, 22.5 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, 39 quarterback hits, 7 pass breakups, 5 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries as he was named Defensive Player of the Week.
