ESPN releases 38-game bowl schedule for 2016-17 season

Bowl season is just eight-and-a-half short months away, which means that ESPN already has its preliminary schedule out.

All 38 games that ESPN will broadcast on its family of networks is subject to change. But if you like to plan early — or you’re a fan with mediocre expectations — you can set your DVRs for the Quick Lane Bowl the day after Christmas.

That’s the earliest you’d see a B1G team play in bowl season. That’s different from last year, when the Pinstripe Bowl kicked off the B1G’s bowl season.

Another noteworthy change is that the Citrus Bowl is at 11 a.m. on New Year’s Eve instead of on New Year’s Day.
