Since FOX is paying high-dollar to air B1G football games for the next six years, it gets first choice on what games it wants to broadcast.

It’s not surprising that the network called dibs on the Michigan-Ohio State game in 2017, easily the biggest game in the conference. According to Cleveland.com, it will be the first time “The Game,” has been aired on FOX.

ESPN and FOX reached a media rights agreement in the summer of 2016, in which ESPN will pay $190 million and FOX will pay $240 million over the next six years to air B1G games. Since FOX is taking more out of its pocket, it gets first choice over ESPN.

And if this year’s game is anything like the thriller last fall, it’s going to be a great investment for the network.

The annual rivalry game is scheduled for Nov. 25 in Ann Arbor.
