Mel Kiper Jr., Todd McShay down to three B1G prospects apiece in final mock drafts
It hasn’t been a good week for former B1G players projected in the first round.
First, the report came out about Jabrill Peppers’ dilute sample at the NFL scouting combine. A day later, rape allegations against former Ohio State cornerback Gareon Conley. Whether or not they did indeed break rules or laws, both will likely see their bank accounts suffer as a result.
If those two players aren’t drafted in the first round, it could be a rough opening night for the B1G.
That’s the way Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay see it playing out. Both of them came out with their final mock drafts, and both of them had just three B1G players (Marshon Lattimore, Malik Hooker and Ryan Ramczyk) getting picked in the first round.
Here was where McShay had each B1G player coming off the board in his final mock:
PICK, TEAM | POSITION, B1G PLAYER | SCHOOL |
---|---|---|
5. Tennessee Titans | CB Marshon Lattimore | Ohio State |
13. Arizona Cardinals | S Malik Hooker | Ohio State |
20. Denver Broncos | OT Ryan Ramczyk | Wisconsin |
Here was where Kiper had B1G players coming off the board in his final mock:
PICK, TEAM | POSITION, B1G PLAYER | SCHOOL |
---|---|---|
12. Cleveland Browns | CB Marshon Lattimore | Ohio State |
17. Washington Redskins | S Malik Hooker | Ohio State |
20. Denver Broncos | OT Ryan Ramczyk | Wisconsin |
Of course a lot can change in the hours leading up to the draft. But barring any late surprises, it appears the B1G will not have much of a presence on Thursday night in Philadelphia.
