C.J. Beathard isn’t lacking confidence at the Senior Bowl.

The Iowa senior is the B1G’s lone quarterback in Mobile, Ala. this week, and so far, Beathard has reportedly been impressive.

Beathard wasn’t shy about his personal evaluation.

“I feel like I’m one of the best — if not the best quarterback in the country right now,” Beathard said to Texans.com. “I just want to be able to show that talent to teams out here this week.”

Beathard will have a chance to show he’s the best senior quarterback in the country on Saturday in the Senior Bowl.

The former Iowa quarterback led the Hawkeyes to their first Rose Bowl in a quarter century as a junior, but saw a dip in production in a senior year maligned by injuries and a depleted group of pass-catchers.

From the people who have seen him at the Senior Bowl, Beathard still looks like a talented prospect.

According to Big Ten Network’s Gerry DiNardo, Beathard had a much better Day-2 performance after an up-and-down Day 1.

Earlier in the week, ESPN’s Todd McShay wrote that the Iowa quarterback could be the mid-to-late-round gem of the draft. Part of that could be the easy transition Beathard should have having played in a pro-style offense.

It remains to be seen how high Beathard’s stock can rise after an up-and-down senior season.

If his comments are any indication, he won’t have a tough time selling himself to NFL front offices.
