Say what you want about Jim Harbaugh, but he’s a Michigan man through and through.

As a child of a former Michigan assistant, a former star Michigan quarterback and the current Michigan football coach, Harbaugh bleeds blue in more ways than most.

The Wolverines, of course, don’t use a mascot. So in a promotion for the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, CBS decided that Harbaugh could represent the Wolverines.

And just in case you needed to zoom in, here’s a closer look at Harbaugh as Michigan’s mascot:

The headset is the giveaway that it’s definitely Harbaugh. Oddly enough, Harbaugh is now an even bigger supporter of Michigan hoops now that is brother-in-law, Tom Crean, is no longer coaching at Indiana.

Michigan will still continue to operate without a mascot in the foreseeable future. Still, maybe CBS was on to something.

Adopting Harbaugh as the official Michigan mascot would be uncharted territory, but that never stopped him before.
