Johnson was one of four players suspended because of a sexual assault that occurred in September. The other suspended players were KiAnte Hardin, Ray Buford, and Dior Johnson, none of which have made a similar announcement yet.

A member of Minnesota’s 2016 recruiting class, Johnson was a three-star weak-side defensive end from Michigan. H was ranked as the No. 91 player at his position for his class.
