Nebraska sophomore linebacker Luke Gifford didn’t see the field past halftime.

With around two minutes left in the first half, the Husker defender was ejected for a targeting call against Fresno State quarterback Chason Virgil.

Gifford played in six games last season before a hip injury sidelined him for the remainder of the year. He had seven tackles. This is the third-straight game in which a Nebraska defender has been ejected for targeting.
