A day after Keyshawn Johnson Jr.’s departure from Lincoln was reported, another Husker underclassmen left the team.

According to Husker Online’s Sean Callahan, linebacker Greg Simmons left the team.

It’s unknown what the main reason for Simmons’ exit was.

The Fort Pierce, Fla. redshirted his first and only season in Lincoln. Last year, Simmons suffered a scary neck injury in fall camp.

The former three-star linebacker was expected to compete for playing time in Nebraska’s inside linebacker rotation. The Huskers will have plenty of linebacker spots to solidify in Bob Diaco’s new 3-4 defense.

Nebraska has not officially announced the departures of Johnson Jr. or Simmons yet.
