Brock Huard didn’t mince words.

The ESPN college football analyst saw Christian Hackenberg play in person three times in 2015, including the season-opening game against Temple in which he got sacked 10 times.

He went on ESPN’s “Mike and Mike” and talked about Hackenberg’s draft stock. He was pretty open about why it might be wise for Hackenberg to stay another year in Happy Valley:

This is just one of the many varying opinions the experts have on Hackenberg. Last week, NFL insider Phil Savage said that there was no way that Bill O’Brien and the Houston Texans would pass up on the Penn State quarterback in the first round.

Huard brought up an interesting point about new offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead. If Hackenberg was involved in getting him to come on board at Penn State, could that make him stay for his senior year?

We’ll find out soon enough. The day for underclassmen to declare for the NFL draft is just over a month away.
