Jake Gervase was once a playmaking defensive back for Iowa’s secondary. Now a member of the Los Angeles Rams, Gervase is taking part in “My Cause, My Cleats” across the NFL this weekend.

Ahead of the action, Gervase unveiled his cleats in a special video explaining the details. The cleats feature a painting of a young patient from the Iowa Children’s Hospital on one cleat and a painting of a garbage truck on the other.

Gervase goes on to explain that the image is of Reid Gleeson and is designed to shine a light on pediatric cancer. The cleats are amazing, but it’s the story of Gleeson and his impact that Gervase wanted to share.
