Wisconsin linebacker T.J. Edwards has been one of the best at his position in the B1G for the past two or three years, and now he hopes to translate an outstanding college career to a successful one at the professional level.

Edwards will be one of several Badgers participating in the NFL Combine this week, hoping to improve his draft stock. The linebacker compared the process to a job interview, and says that his time at Wisconsin has prepared him for the moment.

“I think just the fact that, to be successful at Wisconsin, you have to almost be a professional,” Edwards said in an interview on BTN. “You have to go by your work. You have to make sure you’re accountable and reliable, you have to handle all the little things.

“I think just all around we were taught to be professionals at handling our work and coming in and not trying to say too much or do too much, just getting our work done. I think a lot of us were successful doin that.”

Edwards was terrific all four years at Wisconsin, and had a great final season in Madison. As a senior, the linebacker totaled 113 tackles, 11.5 for loss and three interceptions while appearing in all 13 games. For his career, Edwards registered 367 stops, 37.5 tackles for loss and 10 interceptions.

At the NFL Combine, Edwards is hoping to make a strong impression on the scouts and GMs. Regardless of where he’s drafted or what team ends up selecting him, the former Badger says it’ll be a dream come true to hear his name at the NFL Draft in April.

“It would definitely be a dream come true,” Edwards said. “All this hard work that I’ve put in over the years and all the sacrifices and things like that, would finally all make sense. Getting my name called is something I’ve been striving for for a very long time.”
