National Signing Day is just over two weeks away. With the home stretch ahead, there are several key pieces that B1G teams will look to add.

Here are the best of them:

ILLINOIS

Top target— Four-star WR Jeff Thomas

247sports composite ranking — No. 8 WR, No. 49 overall

Latest buzz — Heading into the Under Armour All-America Game, it looked like Illinois was the favorite to land the speedy four-star wideout. Then the Under Armour All-America Game happened. Thomas earned Offensive MVP honors after scoring two touchdowns, and now, Illinois will have to fend off several late pushes. Willie Taggart is recruiting Thomas hard, and he extended him an offer on Monday. He visited Louisville and he has plans to visit Miami (FL) and Tennessee before announcing on National Signing Day. If Smith somehow lands Thomas, it’ll be his biggest accomplishment since arriving in Champaign.

INDIANA

Top target — Three-star S Keontae Jones

247sports ranking — No. 40 S, No. 570 overall

Latest buzz — Jones visited Indiana in the middle of the Kevin Wilson debacle, but that apparently didn’t sour him on the Hoosiers. Unfortunately for Indiana, the Cincinnati safety has an official visit with presumed favorite Iowa State lined up. IU will have to make a major sell to land Jones instead of either Iowa State or Virginia Tech. Cincinnati could also make a late push for the hometown safety after former Ohio State defensive coordinator Luke Fickell took over.

IOWA

Top target — Four-star WR Oliver Martin

247sports ranking — No. 32 WR, No. 233 overall

Latest buzz — Martin is the one that Kirk Ferentz can’t let get away. The Iowa City wideout became a star in Ferentz’s backyard by setting the state record for receptions. But as Martin’s stock rose — through last week’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl — so did his list of potential suitors. He just took an official visit to Michigan State, he already visited Notre Dame and he could have another official visit at the end of the month. Iowa, MSU, Notre Dame are all trying to fend off late pushes from Auburn, Florida and even BYU. Now, Michigan, Ohio State and UCLA are recruiting Martin. If Ferentz does land the U.S. Army All-American wideout, it’ll be one of his biggest in-state gets to date.

MARYLAND

Top target — Four-star all-purpose back Anthony McFarland

247sports ranking — No. 3 APB, No. 84 overall

Latest buzz — McFarland was originally slated to announce his commitment at the Under Armour All-America Game. But the DeMatha Catholic (Md.) didn’t play because of injuries and he elected to move his announcement back to one week before National Signing Day. That was good news for the Terps, who are reportedly making a late push to prevent McFarland from leaving for Miami (FL). If DJ Durkin is really going to rope off the DMV, he needs to keep talents like McFarland local.

MICHIGAN

Top target — Five-star DT Aubrey Solomon

247sports ranking — No. 2 DT, No. 31 overall

Latest buzz —What a strange recruitment it’s been for Solomon. The five-star Lee County High School (Ga.) originally committed to Michigan after a satellite camp in Georgia. Then he de-committed from Michigan because the Wolverines sent him a thank-you letter for attending a recruiting barbecue that he wasn’t at. A couple weeks ago, a video surfaced of him sharing his disdain for Michigan. Solomon quickly apologized and announced Michigan was one of his final four schools. All Michigan has to do is beat out Alabama and in-state Georgia. Michigan visited Solomon on Monday, which apparently went as well as it could’ve gone.

MICHIGAN STATE

Top target — Four-star WR Oliver Martin

247sports ranking — No. 32 WR, No. 233 overall

Latest buzz — As previously mentioned, it appears to be a dogfight for the Iowa City receiver. Fortunately for MSU, Martin just visited East Lansing over the weekend. One of his good friends is fellow Iowa native and current MSU quarterback commit Rocky Lombardi. That connection is a big one for Mark Dantonio, which is still trying to beat out Iowa, Notre Dame, Oregon and several other late pushes for the U.S. Army All-American. Martin said he could take one more official visit, which could go to Oregon or possibly Auburn after getting a late offer.

MINNESOTA

Top target — Four-star OT Thayer Munford

247sports ranking — No. 31 OT, No. 292 overall

Latest buzz — Munford is in an odd spot. The Washington, Ohio native got an offer and a visit from Minnesota on Saturday. That visit was from former Ohio State offensive coordinator and new Minnesota offensive line coach, Ed Warinner. That was before Urban Meyer checked in on Munford that night. There’s a feeling that Munford is favoring the in-state Buckeyes. The issue, however, is that Munford still doesn’t have an Ohio State offer. The Buckeyes could still be figuring out their final commitments and holding off with the anticipation that Munford would commit immediately. But even if they don’t, Minnesota would still have to push past the likes of Kentucky and Pitt to land the 320-pound tackle.

NEBRASKA

Top target — Five-star WR Joseph Lewis

247sports ranking — No. 3 WR, No. 16 overall

Latest buzz — Can Mike Riley land yet another highly touted California receiver? He already landed Keyshawn Johnson Jr. and stole four-star wideout Tyjon Lindsey from Ohio State. Plucking another receiver with California roots would be huge for Riley. It’s down to Nebraska and USC for the Los Angeles wideout. Lewis, like Johnson and Lindsey, has a good relationship with Husker receivers coach Keith Williams. Lewis will visit USC unofficially and officially before National Signing Day. The Trojans have all sorts of recruiting momentum, but Nebraska might have a better chance than most think if Lindsey’s words carry any weight.

NORTHWESTERN

Top target — Four-star LB Ellis Brooks

247sports ranking — No. 15 ILB, No. 325 overall

Latest buzz — The Under Armour All-American visited Northwestern over the weekend, which he said “went great.” Brooks visited along with the rest of Northwestern’s 2017 class, which already has a commitment from U.S. Army All-American Earnest Brown. While Brown turned down blue bloods for the Wildcats, Brooks might not do the same. He has strong LSU interest and he’s set to visit Notre Dame. Maryland is the 247sports crystal ball favorite, but that could change after Brooks’ stock rose with his stellar Under Armour All-America Game performance.

OHIO STATE

Top target — Five-star DT Marvin Wilson

247sports ranking — No. 1 DT, No. 3 overall

Latest buzz — The top remaining uncommitted 2017 recruit is getting the full-court press as his National Signing Day announcement approaches. Wilson visited LSU over the weekend and tweeted “it’s just something about those Tigers, man.” The Buckeyes became serious contenders after Wilson’s unofficial visit for The Game. OSU did already land two of the other top three recruits in the state of Texas in Jeffrey Okudah and Baron Browning. Including J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State has three of the top six Texas recruits, all of whom gave Wilson the full sell at the U.S. Army All-America Game. Wilson appears to be an LSU lean, but OSU and Florida State will give Wilson everything they have.

PENN STATE

Top target — Four-star CB Tariq Castro-Fields

247sports ranking — No. 32 CB, No. 282 overall

Latest buzz — Penn State’s 2017 class is nearly locked in, but the Lions are making a late push for Castro-Fields. The Upper Marlboro (Md.) cornerback visited State College over the weekend — the only player the Lions officially hosted — ahead of his decision on Jan. 23. The Lions do already have three defensive backs rated four-stars or better, including top recruit Lamont Wade. Maryland appears to be the current favorite, with Alabama in the picture, as well.

PURDUE

Top target — Three-star DE Justin Harris

247sports ranking — No. 33 strong-side defensive end, No. 688 overall

Latest buzz — The Boilermakers ramped up their recruitment of Harris after he de-committed from UCF at the end of 2016. Harris took an official visit to West Lafayette last weekend, which went well by all accounts. He’s also planning on visiting Baylor and LSU. Harris has a Baylor offer, but not one from LSU yet. If the Tigers offer, that would likely end Purdue’s chance of landing the Gonzales, La. native.

RUTGERS

Top target — Three-star DT Corey Bolds

247sports ranking — No. 45 DT, No. 543 overall

Latest buzz — Usually the Paramus Catholic (NJ) recruits wind up at Michigan. Bolds has big-time offers from the likes of Michigan, Clemson, Georgia and Ohio State, but Rutgers could be in good shape. The three-star defensive tackle will visit Rutgers this weekend and Ole Miss the weekend after that. A commitment from Bolds would give Chris Ash pledges from five of the state’s top 15 players, including three of the top six.

WISCONSIN

Top target — Four-star WR Danny Davis

247sports ranking — No. 35 receiver, No. 245 overall

Latest buzz — Wisconsin’s class is pretty much full, but the Badgers are hosting Davis on an official visit this weekend. The four-star Springfield (Ohio) wideout just visited West Virginia and Cincinnati will get his last official visit before National Signing Day. But all could be competing with Kentucky, which is still the reported favorite to land Davis. The Badgers wouldn’t mind adding a much-needed skill player to close their 2017 class.
