There seemed to be two consensus draft takes following the NFL Scouting Combine.
The first of which was that after watching Gareon Conley tear up the combine, Ohio State could have as many as three defensive backs drafted in the first round.
The other was that there are still plenty of wide-ranging opinions on Jabrill Peppers. Some, like NFL Network’s Charles Davis, said that Peppers had the most impressive combine of anyone. Others, like Todd McShay, discussed at length why Peppers doesn’t make sense as a first-round pick.
Kiper agreed with the feeling about Ohio State in his Mock Draft 3.0. And while he might not be as bullish about Peppers as Davis, ESPN’s draft analyst did have Peppers going in the first round in his latest mock draft.
Fittingly, Kiper had Peppers going to the Dallas Cowboys. You know, just in case the Cowboys weren’t polarizing enough.
Kiper also had Ryan Ramczyk moving all the way up to No. 16 overall and he cooled a bit on Taco Charlton (he once said he was the best edge-rusher in the draft and backed off) and dropped him to No. 31.
Here’s where Kiper had all six B1G players going in his Mock Draft 3.0:
PICK, TEAM | B1G PLAYER, POSITION | SCHOOL |
---|---|---|
5. Tennessee Titans | Marshon Lattimore, CB | Ohio State |
7. Los Angeles Chargers | Malik Hooker, S | Ohio State |
14. Philadelphia Eagles | Gareon Conley, CB | Ohio State |
16. Baltimore Ravens | Ryan Ramczyk, OT | Wisconsin |
28. Dallas Cowboys | Jabrill Peppers, S | Michigan |
31. Atlanta Falcons | Taco Charlton, DE | Michigan |
