Two of the B1G’s top prospects could miss the NFL Scouting Combine after postseason surgeries.
Still, Todd McShay doesn’t believe their respective draft stocks will take significant hits.
The ESPN NFL draft analyst had both Malik Hooker and Ryan Ramczyk as top-20 picks in his Mock Draft 2.0.
Hooker is coming off multiple surgeries and has already been ruled out for the combine while Ramczyk will be sidelined after hip surgery. It remains to be seen if that will limit their first-round prospects with NFL front offices, but for now, it doesn’t look like the pre-draft injuries will be a red flag.
McShay slotted four other B1G players in the top 20 of his Mock Draft 2.0, all of which were defensive players.
He had Lattimore off the board at No. 6 overall while Michigan defenders Taco Charlton and Jabrill Peppers were put at No. 11 and No. 17, respectively. Malik McDowell also kept his spot in McShay’s mock, going No. 16 overall to the Baltimore Ravens.
Here’s where McShay had each B1G player:
PICK, TEAM | POSITION, PLAYER | SCHOOL |
---|---|---|
6. New York Jets | CB Marshon Lattimore | Ohio State |
7. Los Angeles Chargers | S Malik Hooker | Ohio State |
11. New Orleans Saints | DE Taco Charlton | Michigan |
16. Baltimore Ravens | DT Malik McDowell | Michigan State |
17. Washington Redskins | S Jabrill Peppers | Michigan |
20. Denver Broncos | OT Ryan Ramczyk | Wisconsin |
