Nine B1G players receive Sporting News preseason All-American honors

We’re within two months of the start of the college football season, which means preseason All-America season is upon us.

On Wednesday, Sporting News released its annual preseason teams. They featured a total of nine B1G players, six of which earned first-team honors.

No team in the country had a better first-team representation than Penn State. The Lions had three players (Saquon Barkley, Mike Gesicki and Marcus Allen) earn first-team honors, as well as kicker Tyler Davis on second-team.

Michigan was the only other B1G school to have multiple players on either team. Rashan Gary and Mason Cole earned first- and second-team honors, respectively.

In all, five B1G teams (Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa, Indiana) had representatives make the cut.
