Michigan defensive lineman and former 5-star recruit Aubrey Solomon plans to transfer from the program, according to reports.

On Monday, Brett McMurphy of Stadium reported that Solomon had intentions to transfer out of Ann Arbor. That report was then confirmed by Steve Lorenz of 247Sports.

Solomon just concluded his sophomore season with the Wolverines.

Solomon was a 5-star prospect out of high school and was a member of Michigan’s 2017 recruiting class. However, the defensive lineman was never able to get into much of a rhythm while in Ann Arbor, battling injuries during his time.

This season, Solomon played in five games, registering just six tackles. As a freshman in 2017, the lineman played in all 13 games for Michigan, totaling 18 stops and two tackles for loss.

It’s unknown where Solomon intends to transfer at this time.

Solomon’s decision comes just a few days before the start of the Early Signing Period, which begins on Wednesday. The Wolverines currently own the B1G’s top recruiting class.

With departures from Chase Winovich (eligibility) and Rashan Gary (NFL Draft), Solomon would’ve likely had a major role on the Wolverines’ defensive line in 2019, if healthy.

Solomon is a native of Leesburg, Georgia and had several prominent offers out of high school.
