Garrett Moores provided the highlight of Thursday night’s Home Depot College Football Awards Show when he was named the Peter Mortell Holder of the Year.

Moores wasn’t in attendance for the live show in Atlanta, but he had a pre-recorded acceptance speech that perfectly captured the light-hearted award.

He thanked his parents, his coaches, “the OG holder Pete Mortell,” Chris Fowler, Sonny Anderson, Wilson Phillips and his teammates, especially kicker/punter Kenny Allen and snapper Scott Sypniewski.

Who did Moores forget to single out? Jim Harbaugh.

Apparently the Michigan head coach did some holding back in his playing days. He taught Moores — a converted quarterback — everything he knows about holding.

Moores explained that on his appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show.”

Moores is obviously pretty big-time now. Still, he admitted he’s more likely to end up in law school than on an NFL roster.

But if we’ve learned anything from Moores, it’s that dreams can come true.
