Report: Former Michigan star Jourdan Lewis facing domestic violence charge
According to MLive.com, former Michigan star Jourdan Lewis is facing a domestic violence charge for allegedly assaulting his 20-year-old girlfriend.
Ann Arbor Police confirmed to MLive.com that the former All-American cornerback and NFL draft hopeful was the subject of a complaint received at 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.
According to the report, Ann Arbor Police were called to Lewis’ residence at the 3000 block of Signature Boulevard. Lewis’ girlfriend told police that there was a physical altercation, though police were unable to confirm which party instigated the incident.
After an investigation, Lewis was charged with misdemeanor assault.
MLive reported that Lewis’ court date is unknown:
The Ann Arbor Police Department submitted a report to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office Wednesday morning. Charges were authorized by 4 p.m., according to records.
Lewis will be arraigned through the 15th District Court at an unknown time and date. Misdemeanor offenders usually get notice through the mail and come to “walk-in arraignments” at the court.
Lewis is projected as one of the top cornerbacks in the 2017 NFL draft after a memorable career at Michigan.
He earned All-America honors in his final two years in school and is Michigan’s all-time leader in pass breakups.
Lewis responded via Twitter after the report surfaced.
It's sad that somebody would want to control you so bad they would ruin your life over it.
