Brian Hoyer was looking like the new starter for the Chicago Bears.

Despite being 1-5 overall heading into last night’s Thursday Night Football game, Hoyer had four consecutive games of at least 300 yards passing. The former Michigan State quarterback was playing the best football of his career.

Last night, the Bears were facing the Green Bay Packers in a historic rivalry. In the second quarter of the eventual 26-10 loss to the Packers, Hoyer got taken down by Julius Peppers and landed on his left shoulder.

The most recent reports say Hoyer broke his left arm and while surgery is likely, a late-season return is possible.
