It took a winding road to get there, but Nebraska ended up being the final destination for Jamire Calvin.

The four-star receiver, who broke off his Oregon State commitment last week, announced on Friday that he’s coming to Lincoln in 2017:

Originally, it looked like Nebraska was a lock. Then at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Jamire Calvin pulled off a late surprise and picked Oregon State.

The Los Angeles wideout opened up his commitment just 10 days after the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Ten days after that, he announced his pledge to Nebraska.

Calvin is the No. 44 receiver and No. 313 player overall in the 2017 class. His commitment gave the Huskers four recruits among the top 50 wideouts in the 2017 class, three of which are rated four stars or better.

Two weeks ago, Nebraska got a key addition when former Ohio State commit Tyjon Lindsey announced his verbal pledge to the Huskers. Including Keyshawn Johnson Jr., Nebraska now has commitments from three talented receivers from California.

Nebraska climbed back up to No. 5 in the B1G and No. 22 overall in the 2017 class rankings.

The Huskers are still waiting for a decision on yet another blue chip California receiver in Joseph Lewis, who is the No. 4 wideout in the 2017 class. He’l make his announcement on National Signing Day.

With or without Lewis, the Calibraska movement is in full effect.
