Ohio State RB Mike Weber issues fun challenge to Saquon Barkley, Derrius Guice
Mike Weber is pretty confident he’ll be one of the top running backs in college football this fall. So confident, he’s issuing a challenge to some of the most highly-touted ball-carriers returning in 2017.
With still four months until the season gets underway, Weberย challenged Penn State’s Saquon Barkley and LSU’s Derrius Guice through Twitter.
The terms? Whichever of the three running backs has the fewest yards next season purchases dinner for the other two.
Whoever rush for less yards this year buys the other two dinner?๐ @saquonb21 @DhaSickest……Y'all down ?

Can't forget least touchdowns as well ๐๐ I'm down https://t.co/R2Cad6xD3h

That seems like an innocent contest, right?
Unfortunately, considering the NCAA’s stance on gambling and similar situations, this “bet” probably won’t blossom into an actual challenge. Remember, five baseball players from Richmond were suspended for playing in fantasy football this past year.
Regardless, Weber must be pretty confident about his ability to rack up yardage this fall, especially by challenging such prominent backs.
Last year, Barkley was the B1G’s second-leading rusher with 1,496 yards. Weber tallied 1,096 yards, good enough for the sixth-highest total in the conference.
Guise was the SEC’s second-best ball-carrier with 1,387 yards, as well.
Even if there is no official bet amongst the three running backs, it should be fun to watch all of them carry the football in 2017.
