Everyone was waiting for that breakout game from Saquon Barkley in 2016.

Well, that wait is over.

Barkley lit up Maryland throughout the first half with big play after big play. By halftime, the sophomore sensation racked up 148 yards on 19 carries.

He put an exclamation point on a monster first half by turning this play into a 45-yard score:

Barkley would have two touchdowns and another 25 yards if not for a holding penalty that nullified a second-quarter touchdown.

The Lions came into Saturday without having 150 yards rushing in their last 11 games. Barkley almost broke that single-handily in the first half. He and Trace McSorley have been too much for the Terps so far. They combined for 221 rushing yards on 33 carries in the first two frames.

The Terps have to come up with some sort of answer, or else Barkley and the Lions will run away with this one.
