There were 330 prospects hoping to impress NFL teams at the combine in Indianapolis this weekend.

But apparently one player who wasn’t Indianapolis generated some buzz, too. In fact, that player won’t even be draft eligible for another year.

Yes, NFL teams are already talking about Saquon Barkley, according to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman. And they think the Penn State tailback will be one of the first players off the board in 2018.

That’s not such a crazy thought considering the accomplishments — both on the field and in the weight room — that Barkley has under his belt.

The co-B1G Offensive Player of the Year recorded back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons to start his career. Barkley, of course, racked up plenty of highlight-reel runs in the process.

Last week, Barkley recorded a 4.33 40-yard dash during a Penn State practice. Couple that with the fact that he tied Penn State’s power clean record (390 pounds) after his true freshman season.

Barkley is already generating Heisman Trophy buzz entering his junior season. It’s safe to say that Barkley isn’t flying under anyone’s radar in 2017.
