There wasn’t much hype surrounding Jeff Brohm’s first recruiting class at Purdue.

So the Boilermakers’ head coach tried to stir up excitement on BTN.

Early in the network’s eight-hour coverage of National Signing Day, Brohm sent a fax to BTN that was read live on air by host Mike Hall:

And in case you thought that might be an imposter using Brohm’s name just to get a little attention on National Signing Day, the official Twitter account of Purdue football confirmed the message was sent from the passionate head coach:

That’s one way to try and get Purdue fans fired up about National Signing Day and the future of the program.

The fax is a play off this memorable interview from Brohm’s XFL days. The slogan, “let’s play football” has been adopted by Purdue:

Purdue entered National Signing Day with the B1G’s lowest-ranked class (14th) and No. 65 overall.

Recently, the Boilermakers lost commitments from receiver C.J. Hayes – who signed with Michigan State – and defensive lineman Malcolm Robinson – who signed with Minnesota.

This is Brohm’s first National Signing Day in the B1G. And even though Purdue’s class hasn’t been that great, it doesn’t appear it’s curbed his enthusiasm about the players he’s bringing to West Lafayette.
