Former Michigan star Jourdan Lewis was charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic violence last week for an incident involving his girlfriend at their apartment. Lewis entered a not guilty plea in 15th District Court last week.

On Tuesday, the Detroit News obtained the police report from the confrontation.

According to the report, police responded to a 911 call from Lewis’ girlfriend of three years, Nikole Miller, at 1:10 a.m. last Wednesday. The report said Miller’s only injuries were a scratch on her thumb and a scratch on her left hand. She didn’t require any medical attention.

That led to Lewis being handcuffed and taken to the police station to be photographed. He was later released.

The report said the incident started when Miller returned home and found Lewis asleep in bed with a light on. That resulted in a heated argument about “who pays the bills.” Lewis threw a blanket two pillows at Miller, which he later admitted he threw “pretty hard.”

Miller reportedly demanded an apology, but Lewis refused and insisted on getting out of bed and leaving the apartment. The altercation reportedly got physical. Lewis said that Miller wrapped her arms around his legs to try and prevent him from leaving.

Miller told police that at one point, Lewis “grabbed her by the neck and held her down on the floor.” Lewis admitted to grabbing her neck, but he told police that it was in an attempt to get Miller off of him and that he had no intention of assaulting her. There were no injuries to Miller’s neck, according to the report.

She also told police that Lewis stepped on her hair, but that she didn’t remember how she ended up on the ground.

Lewis’ pre-trial hearing is set for April 12.

After finishing his Michigan career with two All-American seasons, Lewis is expected to be one of the first cornerbacks selected in the 2017 NFL draft.
