Matt Nelson was listed as out by the Detroit Lions for their game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6. Nelson was a defensive end at Iowa, but moved to offensive tackle once he made it to the NFL.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Nelson along with a string of Lions players would not be playing in the game. Nelson went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft and has been with the Lions ever since.

Nelson is out along with WR D.J. Chark, DL Charles Harris, S Ifeatu Melifonwu, and CB Bobby Price.

At Iowa, Nelson played in 52 career games. He finished his Hawkeye career with 111 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, and 3 fumble recoveries.

The Lions are 1-4 heading into the game with their one win coming from the Washington Commanders in Week 2. They will now have to face Dak Prescott who is coming fresh off of an injury.

Sunday’s game will be broadcast at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
