Michigan softball pitcher Meghan Beaubien throws perfect game in final regular season series

College softball’s regular season is coming to end, and Michigan seems to be peaking at the right time.

Wolverines pitcher Meghan Beaubien threw a perfect game vs. Rutgers on Saturday afternoon in the team’s penultimate game of the season.

Michigan run-ruled the Scarlet Knights, so it was only a five-inning affair. But Beaubien sat down all 15 batters in order to secure the milestone.

Michigan is now 35-6 this season and has already clinched the Big Ten championship. According to the latest national rankings, the Wolverines are ranked No. 18 in the country.

Beaubien and fellow pitcher Alex Storako have been dominant so far this season in the circle. Entering Saturday’s game, Beaubien’s ERA was just 1.18 in over 130 innings. Storako’s numbers are even more impressive — she boasts a 0.93 ERA in 128 innings this season.

Michigan has shut out Rutgers in the first three games of this series, with the finale set to be played on Sunday.

NCAA softball regionals start on Friday, May 21.
