Caesars Ohio Sportsbook Expected To Launch Jan. 1, 2023
Caesars Ohio Sportsbook is on its way, much to the delight of Ohio online sports bettors everywhere. That’s right … The Emperor is coming to the Buckeye State. This means Ohio State Buckeyes football fans will soon have the ability to legally place online bets on their favorite team.
They’re simply waiting for Ohio sports betting to become a legal reality.
By Jan. 1, 2023, Ohio residents (and anybody located in the state’s geographical borders) will have the ability to legally bet online. Of course, this means Big Ten sports betting enthusiasts are foaming at the mouth—to go along with those rival Wolverine football fans who have enjoyed legal Michigan online sports betting for quite some time.
Those currently located in already-live-and-legal online sports betting states can take advantage of Caesars Sportsbook’s incredible $1,500 risk-free bet promo today:
🚨 All promo links on this page are for use in legalized online sports betting states only.
Signing up for a Caesars Sportsbook account (in an already-live-and-legal state) is a painless experience with an extremely high return on the investment. (This will also be the case once Caesars Ohio Sportsbook officially launches.)
Snag Caesars Sportsbook’s introductory $1,500 risk-free bet bonus and follow the steps below:
- Complete the online registration that requires information such as name, address, email and date of birth (must be 21 years or older).
- Deposit at least $50 into your new Caesars Sportsbook account via any number of offered deposit methods.
- Use the $1,500 risk-free bet new-user promo.
Although we now know that Ohio online sports betting will become a reality on or shortly after Jan. 1, 2023, we’re not quite as sure when Caesars Sportsbook will launch in the Buckeye State. Just don’t expect there to be too much lag.
Considering Caesars’ current partnerships in the state, it’s a tremendous bet that the now-mega sportsbook will launch on that first day or extremely shortly thereafter. Already inking a deal with the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers has Caesars Sportsbook out in front of the pack.
And while it may disappoint some to hear that Ohio sports gambling won’t legalize until the first day of 2023, that date still leaves several big-time events at play: the 2023 Rose Bowl (Jan. 2, 2023), the College Football Playoff Championship game (Jan. 9, 2023) and a sizable chunk of the NFL playoffs (if not all of it).

Caesars Ohio Sportsbook Launch Details
When will Caesars Ohio Sportsbook become live and legal?
Ohio online sports betting is projected to launch on or shortly after Jan. 1, 2023. Not only do we have the news timeline that has gotten us to this place, but we also have a pretty good idea of the implementation timeline (what’s to come).
June 2022 represents the initial application time period when sportsbooks can officially put forth intentions to operate in Ohio. While BetMGM and PointsBet became the first two sportsbooks to officially put forth an application, do not expect Caesars to lag too far behind. (Besides, the Emperor’s sportsbook is already sitting pretty with that cool Cavs partnership.)
The rest of the implementation timeline looks a little like this (also as seen on Saturday Tradition’s parent Ohio online sports betting page):
- June 1, 2022: Final application versions made available
- June 15, 2022: First application window opens. Type A, B and C proprietors, first designated MMSPs, MSPs and suppliers may begin to submit applications to the Commission.
- July 15, 2022: First application window closes. Application deadline for proprietors, first designated MMSPs, MSPs and suppliers.
- July 15, 2022: Second application window opens. Type-C sports gaming hosts and second designated MMSPs may begin to submit applications to the Commission.
- Aug. 1, 2022: Compliance document window opens. Applicants may submit responsible gaming plans, facility plans, equipment testing, geolocation procedures, house rules and required procedures.
- Aug. 15, 2022: Second application window closes. Application deadline for Type-C sports gaming hosts and second designated MMSPs.
- Nov. 2, 2022: Compliance document window closes. Submission deadline for all final responsible gaming plans, facility plans, geolocation procedures, house rules and required procedures.
- Nov. 2, 2022: Employee application deadline. All standard sports gaming employee applications must be submitted.
- Dec. 2, 2022: Equipment verification. All equipment ready for Commission verification.
- Jan. 1, 2023: Universal start date. Ohio online sports betting goes live as all sports gaming launches simultaneously on Jan. 1, 2023.
Caesars is currently available in many other states, six of which house Big Ten college football teams):
- New Jersey
- Washington D.C.
- West Virginia
Soon, Ohio will be included on this rapidly growing list.
Caesars Sportsbook is Saturday Tradition’s preferred online sports betting app
Moreover, potential Ohio online sports gamblers should be excited about Caesars Sportsbook’s inclusion for this one critical reason: It’s the best sportsbook in the business.
Caesars Sportsbook is Saturday Tradition’s preferred online operator of choice, as it currently ranks first out of the top five expected sports betting apps to ultimately hit the Ohio online sports betting market in early 2023.
Here is Saturday Tradition’s ranking of the top online sports betting apps expected to launch in Ohio:

Caesars Ohio Sportsbook Potential Promos
Sure, the prospect of Caesars Ohio Sportsbook hitting the market is exciting due to its cutting-edge technology and overall online gaming prowess, but the excitement cannot end there.
Caesars Sportsbook offers the top promos in the business as well. For instance, its $1,500 risk-free bet promo for all new users is something each big-boy sportsbook on the market continually struggles to match.
The following are some of the current Ohio State football odds, courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook:
$1,500 Risk-Free Bet
Simply sign up for a Caesars Sportsbook account as a new user, deposit at least $10 into your Caesars Sportsbook account, and take advantage of a mouthwatering $1,500 risk-free bet.
If you win, great. If you don’t, there’s no need to worry. Whatever was lost on that initial wager will be credited back to your account in the form of site credit.
There’s really no way to lose with this one (something Ohio State fans were so incredibly used to saying whenever Michigan rolled around on the schedule … until 2021, of course).
As long as the $1,500 risk-free bet is still going strong by Jan. 1, 2023, there’s no reason to think Ohio online sports bettors won’t have the opportunity to take advantage. That is unless Caesars Sportsbook has something extra special in store for the Ohio launch.

💰 Bonuses & Promos: 5.0 of 5.0 Stars
Caesars Ohio Sportsbook is expected to offer a tantalizing $1,500 risk-free bet to new users once it launches. Of course, this isn’t a guarantee.
In fact, Caesars Sportsbook tops the sportsbook list as it relates to new-user promotions and bonuses. Nobody else can compete while very few operators simply struggle to stay close behind.
What separates Caesars Sportsbook from the others is this: It’s the online sports betting app that best adapts its new-user promos to any given state situation. In other words, Caesars Sportsbook often tailors its new-user promotions around state launches.
This means Ohio online sports bettors are in for a grand time come Jan. 1, 2023. But even if it’s not the current $1,500 risk-free bet, online sports gamblers can be sure to have something ridiculously sensational at their fingertips for simply registering a Caesars Ohio Sportsbook account.
📲 Betting App & Features: 5.0 of 5.0 Stars
Sure, J.B Smoove and Halle Berry steal the spotlight in those lively Caesars Sportsbook commercials, but this company never stops at the advertising and marketing level. Its technology is first-rate, which, of course, includes its amazing online sports betting application.
Available on both the App Store (iPhone’s iOS) and Google Play (Android), as well as on desktop, the “Caesars Sportsbook” online app is as good as it gets.
Formerly listed as “Caesars Sportsbook & Casino,” Caesars Entertainment decided to focus strictly on the sportsbook side for sports-betting enthusiasts. Caesars Sportsbook’s hearty 4.6 rating via over 31,000 users providing input should provide confidence to any prospective Caesars Sportsbook bettor.
What changed everything was Caesars’ acquisition of William Hill over a year ago. It was at that point when Caesars Sportsbook really became Caesars Sportsbook—as it finally had the tech and resources to make the mobile app all it could be.
Navigating between the app’s various sections is as easy as a C.J. Stroud touchdown pass. It allows legal online sports gamblers to jump from a lengthy list of daily odds boosts to live-betting options with no delay.
The key to any online sportsbook app is this: Allowing both diehard and novice legal sports bettors a chance to enjoy the experience, something the Caesars Sportsbook app does in spades.
Stability and Functionality:
The Caesars Sportsbook app is as reliable as it gets. It was not always this way, but these days, that idea simply cannot be refuted.
This is an online sportsbook app that showcases rapid navigation throughout its sections and game offerings. At no point in our testing did the app show any signs of lagging or timing out.
🎲 Odds & Variety: 4.5 of 5.0 Stars
Caesars is the official partner of the NFL, and many of its odds are the best in the business, to the surprise of very few onlookers and pundits.
When it comes to game offerings, Caesars Sportsbook has more than enough for bettors to come away pleased. Wagerers can get in on domestic and international action in a variety of sports, including football, baseball, basketball, hockey, auto racing, baseball, boxing, cycling, darts, golf, rugby league, rugby union, snooker, soccer, tennis and UFC/MMA.
Factoring in the wide array of in-game betting options, futures bets, and pre-game team, game, and player props, Caesars Sportsbook features a great variety of action. The additional layer of promos and odds boosts on a number of leagues elevates Caesars Sportsbook beyond the top-tier of legal online sportsbooks.
- Auto racing
- Rugby league
- Rugby union

Any interested bettor must be at least 21 years of age to sign up, and this will also be the case in Ohio. Once the Buckey State officially launches legal online sports betting, the online sports gambler must be located within the state’s official borders.
The sportsbook registration asks for basic personal information, including a bettor’s full name, date of birth, residential address, and an email address to set up an online account.
Bettors can make a deposit to the Caesars Sportsbook app by using any of their safe funding methods, including:
- Online Banking
- Credit/Debit Cards
- eCheck by VIP Preferred
- Caesars Sportsbook Prepaid Play+ Card
- Caesars Rewards Visa Credit Card
Caesars Sportsbook’s withdrawal methods can be described as “industry standard.” Some of those options include online banking and e-check.

- Caesars Sportsbook Prepaid Play+ Card
⭐️ Caesars Sportsbook Overall Rating: 4.88 of 5.0 Stars
Caesars Ohio Sportsbook will pay off as soon as it officially launches.
The rebranding and revamping efforts for their sportsbook app—following the William Hill acquisition—have paid huge dividends in other states where the app is available. Ohio sports bettors should expect nothing different.
The strong standing Caesars Sportsbook has earned in several other markets has brought immediate legitimacy to the brand. Moreover, the company’s massive ad buys made for TV, radio and internet space have provided the app with instant name recognition.
All told, Caesars Sportsbook is the clear No. 1 choice for Saturday Tradition and all of the Saturday Football brands/websites (Saturday Down South, Saturday Road, Saturday Out West).

Caesars Palace opened in Nevada way back in 1966, establishing what would become one of the most iconic brands in sports betting and casino gaming. Caesars Sportsbook originally launched in Nevada on Sept. 5, 2017, which coincided with a soft launch of the sportsbook app.
That expansion moved eastward in 2018, starting with a launch in New Jersey on September 6, 2018. This gave Caesars Sportsbook a presence on the East Coast, mere weeks after legal online sports betting went live in the Garden State.
Caesars Sportsbook launched a different version of its app with a heavier focus on casino gaming on March 10, 2020. It’s worth noting, however, that the branding and promos offered in the Keystone State are vastly different from those offered by other Caesars Sportsbook iterations. On May 19, 2020, Caesars Sportsbook gained a Midwest presence, launching in Indiana.
In April 2021, Caesars Entertainment acquired William Hill PLC, which sparked a massive rebranding and advertising campaign. In the months that followed, Caesars Sportsbook unveiled revamped app iterations that are now available in New York, Louisiana, New Jersey, Arizona, Colorado, Tennessee, Virginia, Michigan, West Virginia, Indiana and Iowa, among others.
🤝 Caesars Ohio Sportsbook-Specific Partnerships
As previously mentioned, Caesars Sportsbook’s crucial deal with the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers has the mega-sports gambling operator on the Buckeye State frontline. The deal allows them better standing and more flexibility when the official time to party arrives.
🏈 NFL Partnership
The National Football League and Caesars Entertainment have an official partnership that made Caesars the league’s official casino sponsor, as well as one of the three official sports betting sponsors for the league.
Under the terms of this agreement, Caesars is able to create tentpole activation events at the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl and 2022 NFL draft. Caesars can also integrate sports betting content into NFL.com and the official NFL app.
Given the importance of the Caesars Entertainment brand, including the resorts and casino business, the company can use NFL trademarks in marketing across their casino properties and on-site entertainment.
Ohio Sports Betting Teams & Odds
Ohio Professional Sports Teams
Ohio is one of the few states that features multiple teams within one of the four major American professional sports leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL). The Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals share Ohio in the NFL, and the Cleveland Guardians and Cincinnati Reds share Ohio baseball.
While New York and a few others beat that number in totality, Ohio brings major firepower to the legal online sports wagering party.
- Cleveland Browns (NFL)
- Cincinnati Bengals (NFL)
- Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA)
- Cleveland Guardians (MLB)
- Cincinnati Reds (MLB)
- Columbus Blue Jackets (NHL)
- Columbus Crew (MLS)
- Cincinnati FC (MLS)

This website’s fans love their college football— particularly the Ohio State Buckeyes. When the green light flashes in early 2023, watch out for an online sports betting explosion in the college football category.

Similar to situations in other states, Caesars Sportsbook also has retail locations lined up in Ohio.
