Former Purdue defensive lineman Lorenzo Neal has found a home in the NFL.

This weekend, the New Orleans Saints announced that they have signed Lorenzo Neal Jr. He was not selected in this year’s NFL Draft, so he signs with the organization as an undrafted rookie free agent.

Neal will beginning his NFL career in the same place as his father, Lorenzo Neal, who was drafted by the Saints in 1993.

Neal Jr. was twice selected as an honorable mention All-B1G defensive lineman (2018, 2020). He did battle injuries throughout his career and missed the entirety of the 2019 campaign with the Boilermakers.

During his time at Purdue, Neal Jr. had 73 tackles, 4 sacks and 4 forced fumbles while playing in 38 games.

Neal Sr. spent four seasons of his 16-year career in New Orleans.
