We might begin to see stadiums at full capacity for the NCAA’s upcoming baseball and softball tournaments, another great sign for college sports.

Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball.com reported on Wednesday that the NCAA is expected to announce that it will permit stadiums to operate at 100% capacity for the upcoming baseball and softball tournaments. Host sites would still have to follow local and state guidelines, however.

It’s significant news for the NCAA and fans of college baseball and softball. With limited or no attendance at sporting events through a majority of the 2020-21 academic and athletic years, seeing a full venue would be quite an impressive site.

Team selections for the NCAA softball tournament occurred on Sunday, May 16 with regional games beginning on Friday, May 21. The baseball selection date is scheduled for Monday, May 31.
