Northwestern adds transfer DB out of Presbyterian

Northwestern is adding an experienced defensive back to its 2021 roster.
Wednesday, the Wildcats landed a commitment from former Presbyterian defensive back Trent Carrington, who appeared in 26 career games for the FCS program. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound DB spent four seasons with the Blue Hose.
Carrington did play at Presbyterian during the spring 2021 season. The FCS postponed fall football and participated in a limited spring season, with the national championship being played on Sunday.
During the 2021 season, Carrington was credited with 29 tackles, including 2 for loss.
“I’m excited to announce that I have committed to Northwestern University!” Carrington wrote on Twitter.
Over the course of his career at Presbyterian, Carrington made 155 total tackles, 7 pass break-ups and 3 interceptions in the last three seasons. He’ll add experience and depth to the secondary in Northwestern, which will be needed with the departure of Greg Newsome II.
Northwestern ended the 2020 season with a 7-2 record, winning the B1G West for the second time in three seasons. The Wildcats then defeated Auburn in the Citrus Bowl to round out the year.
