A former Indiana tight end is heading down to Myrtle Beach.
Thursday, former Hoosiers tight end Turon “TJ” Ivy Jr. announced on Twitter that he has committed to Coastal Carolina to continue his college football career. He entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal in April after spending three seasons at IU.
A native of Chicago, Ivy will leave one darling story from the 2020 college football season for another. While Indiana received plenty of attention for its 6-2 campaign under Tom Allen, Coastal Carolina was praised as one of the best Group of 5 programs in the sport a year ago.

Ivy did not see the field for the Hoosiers during the 2020 season but did play in 11 of Indiana’s 13 games in 2019. He was credited with 3 catches for 24 yards that year, all coming against Eastern Illinois. IU ended that season with an 8-5 record.
Out of high school, Ivy was a 3-star recruit and was ranked as the No. 61 tight end of the 2018 class. He did not see any game action during his first year in Bloomington but was twice named the Scout Player of the Week.
Ivy will have three seasons of eligibility to use at Coastal Carolina.
