Former Michigan State quarterback Theo Day has found a new home.

247Sports’ Allen Trieu is reporting that Day will be heading to Northern Iowa to continue his career in college football. He entered the NCAA transfer portal following the conclusion of Michigan State’s spring practice. Day is a graduate transfer.

Day appeared in two games with the Spartans, both coming during the 2019 season. He played against Western Michigan and Penn State and completed 2-of-3 passes for 12 yards for the year. He did not play in either 2018 or 2020.

As a 3-star member of the 2018 recruiting class, Day redshirted his first year in East Lansing. Last season, he was behind Rocky Lombardi and Payton Thorne on the depth chart.

At Northern Iowa, Day will have three seasons of eligibility to use. He joins a Panthers squad that finished the spring season with a 3-4 record.
