Nebraska just wrapped up an outstanding baseball season, and the Huskers were rewarded handsomely with the Big Ten’s end-of-season awards.

Nebraska took home honors for Player of the Year (Spencer Schwellenbach), Freshman of the Year (Max Anderson) and Coach of Year (Will Bolt).

The Cornhuskers also had four players make First Team All-Big Ten, which was the most of any team in the conference. No other team had more than two players make First Team All-Big Ten.

Iowa’s Trenton Wallace won Pitcher of the Year and was the only non-Cornhusker to win an individual award.

Nebraska dominated the Big Ten’s regular season, going 31-12 en route to earning the conference championship. The Big Ten isn’t playing a conference tournament this season, so the Huskers earned the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

According to a release, Schwellenbach is the first Nebraska baseball player ever to win Big Ten Player of the Year. He played third base and was a highly-effective relief pitcher for the Huskers this season.

Nebraska will find out its seed during the NCAA Tournament selection show on Monday.
