Purdue baseball recognizes landmark achievement for Minnesota HC John Anderson

John Anderson has been doing his thing for a long time now, and Purdue honored him prior to the start of Sunday’s action.
Unfortunately for the Gophers and Boilermakers, 2021 has not been kind. Minnesota entered Sunday with a 6-30 record while Purdue stood at 15-26 with both teams solidly out of the NCAA Tournament.
That did not stop the Boilermakers from honoring Anderson with a gift before Sunday’s game, a game that marks the end of Anderson’s 40th season with the Gophers. He became head coach at Minnesota in 1981 after playing for the Gophers in the mid-70s.
Classy, @PurdueBaseball. 👏

Since becoming head coach, Anderson has notched 1,330 career wins. That mark is good for 22nd all-time in NCAA history. He is also the winningest coach in B1G history and has 11 B1G regular-season titles to go with 19 NCAA postseason appearances.
Congratulations to Anderson on reaching a historic benchmark! Now, he will look to turn things around and lead the Gophers back to the postseason for the first time since 2018.
