Maryland drew first blood in its first game of the NCAA baseball tournament on Friday.
In the top of the 2nd inning in Friday night’s game against Charlotte, junior 1st baseman Maxwell Costes hit a solo shot off the scoreboard to give the Terrapins an early 1-0 lead. Below is the clip of the first run of the game:

Costes stepped to the plate on Friday night with a .291 batting average, having hit two home runs on the season and accounting for 21 RBIs. His solo shot was the most important hit of the season to date.
Maryland is playing in the Greenville Regional and is one of three B1G teams in action, along with Michigan and Nebraska.
