Former Rutgers running back Gus Edwards will be extending his stay in Baltimore.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday that the Ravens and Edwards have agreed to terms for a 2-year contract extension worth $10 million. The running back will be under contract with Baltimore through the 2023 season.

Edwards has spent his entire NFL career with the Ravens. He was an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers in 2018 but has been able to carve out a significant role with the franchise.

In his three seasons in the league, Edwards has rushed for 2,152 yards and 10 touchdowns while maintaining a 5.2 yards per carry average. He’s also caught 18 passes for 194 yards.

Edwards has been incredibly consistent out of the backfield in three seasons in Baltimore. He’s rushed for over 700 yards and scored at least 2 touchdowns in all three years and has averaged 5.0 yards per carry each season.

The 2020 season was Edwards’ most productive statistically. He totaled 723 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground on 144 carries, all career highs. He also had 129 yards on 9 receptions, also career best numbers.
