We’re still at least one year away from seeing Quinn Ewers take a snap at the college football level, but one recruiting analyst is already singing some major praises for the 5-star prospect out of Texas.

Ewers, an Ohio State commit, is not only the top-ranked quarterback of the 2022 recruiting class, he’s currently listed as the No. 1 overall player of the cycle. He’s held firm on his pledge to the Buckeyes, giving Ryan Day another incredibly talented passer to work with in Columbus.

Recently on the 247Sports Recruiting Podcast, analyst Greg Biggins had some flattering words for Ewers. He believes that the future Buckeye is a better prospect throwing the football than former Clemson QB and No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence.

“From a pure throwing standpoint…I’m going to go with Quinn (over Trevor Lawrence),” Biggins said.

Ewers hold offers from 29 programs and was in the Elite 11 finals and named to the All-American Bowl. Over the past two seasons at Southlake Carroll High School, Ewers has thrown for 6,445 yards and 73 touchdowns with just 8 interceptions. He’s also rushed for 701 yards and 12 touchdowns on 116 carries.

In 2019, he lead Southlake Carroll to a Texas 6A D-I state quarterfinal appearance and last year, his squad reached the championship game.

Time will tell if Ewers is one of the best college quarterbacks we’ve seen play, but there’s already a lot of hype for the 5-star prospect. It won’t back away when he arrives at Ohio State, either.
