First-round pick Micah Parsons is officially a member of the Dallas Cowboys organization.

On Wednesday, the Cowboys announced that Parsons signed his rookie deal with the franchise. The former Penn State linebacker was selected with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

“You can see the ability and just the instinct, the way he can react and get off the spot at the linebacker position,” head coach Mike McCarthy said, per DallasCowboys.com. “We’re just going through our installs, going through our concepts. But he’s fitting in real nicely.”

Parsons was one of the top defensive prospects in this year’s NFL Draft class. He ended his career with 191 tackles at Penn State, 18 being for loss and forcing 6 fumbles in two years.

Now, Parsons will begin his journey in the NFL with the franchise he always dreamed of playing for. And he hopes to make an early impact in Dallas.
