Not very official: ACC program misspells key word in welcome materials for recruits taking visit

You don’t get a second chance at a first impression. One ACC program is learning that the hard way.

This weekend, Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio tweeted out an image of one of the welcome signs as Louisville hosted recruits for official visits. The problem? One key word was misspelled.

Instead of “official,” one of the placards read “offical.”

Not a great start for Louisville. Below is the image shared by Jones over the weekend:

Louisville has been a bit behind on the recruiting front with the 2022 class. Currently, the Cardinals have just two players committed in the cycle — 4-star defensive end Popeye Williams and 3-star quarterback Khalib Johnson. The class ranks 13th in the ACC and 67th nationally.

Granted, one misspelling on a recruiting visit sign isn’t the end of the world for Louisville. Still, after not allowing any recruits on campus for 15 months because of the pandemic, Louisville probably should’ve made sure everything was in order for a big weekend.

Instead, the Cardinals provided everyone on social media with a pretty big laugh.
