Purdue picked up a verbal commitment from 3-star tight end Charlie Kenrich on Saturday afternoon.

Kenrich is listed as both a tight end and as an athlete according to 247Sports. The service ranks him as the No. 80 overall athlete in the country for the class of 2022.

He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, so he certainly has the frame to play tight end in the Big Ten.

Kenrich also has offers from Virginia Tech, Iowa State, Michigan State, Vanderbilt and others, according to 247Sports.

He’s from Middletown, Ohio, and attends Lakota East High School.

Purdue now has five commitments for the class of 2022. The Boilermakers class currently ranks No. 64 nationally and No. 13 in the Big Ten, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Kenrich is Purdue’s first commitment from the state of Ohio since Jared Byczsnski (class of 2020) committed on April 1, 2019.
