Ohio State continues to rake in the talent with the 2022 recruiting class. The Buckeyes added another big-time prospect with a verbal pledge from 4-star running back Dallan Hayden on Tuesday.

Hayden had a Top 5 list of Ohio State, Illinois, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Utah. In a video posted to social media on Tuesday, the 4-star running back announced his pledge to the Buckeyes.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound ball carrier becomes the 14th player in the 2022 class to commit to Ohio State. Only two of those pledges do not have a 4- or 5-star rating.

Hayden, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, is ranked as the No. 24 running back of the cycle, per 247Sports. Nationally, he’s the No. 237 overall prospect, giving Ohio State another Top 250 talent.

From 247Sports national recruiting analyst Allen Trieu:

Has a college-ready build at a sturdy 195 pounds. Highly productive junior season which showed he could break long runs and hit creases with burst and acceleration but is also a physical runner who will lower his shoulder and initiate contact when he needs to. Runs hard, and does not stop on contact. Shows wiggle and elusiveness but mostly appears to be a one cut and go back. Has shown that he can catch the ball and run routes and uses his physicality as a pass-blocker as well.

During the 2020 high school season at Christian Brothers, Hayden rushed for 2,010 yards and 24 touchdowns while also adding 10 receptions for 127 yards.

Ohio State still owns the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class in 2022.
