Indiana picked up a huge commitment for its 2022 recruiting class on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hoosiers added 3-star quarterback Josh Hoover. He made the announcement on Twitter:

Hoover is a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports Composite ratings. He’s currently slotted as the No. 36 quarterback in the country.

Last season, he threw for 3,496 yards and 36 touchdowns while playing for Rockwall-Heath High School in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

He chose the Hoosiers over offers from Arkansas, Houston, Memphis, North Texas, SMU and others, per 247Sports.

IU also went into Texas during the 2021 cycle, signing 3-star receiver Jordyn Williams from Cedar Hill, Texas.

Indiana now has six commitments in the class of 2022. The Hoosiers’ class is ranked No. 44 nationally and No. 11 in the Big Ten, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

However, there’s room for growth. Their average recruit rating of 89.61 (per 247Sports Composite) would put them third in the Big Ten behind only Ohio State and Penn State. If the Hoosiers can turn their current quantity into quality, their class will rise quickly up the national ranks.

Player in the 2022 class are eligible to officially sign with programs during the Early Signing Period in December.
