Penn State is adding some depth to its secondary for the upcoming season.
247Sports is reporting that former Florida State defensive back AJ Lytton will be joining the Nittany Lions for the upcoming season. The decision comes after making an unofficial visit to the campus earlier in June.
A former 4-star recruit, Lytton was ranked as the No. 50 overall prospect in the 2018 class and the No. 7 cornerback, per 247Sports Composite. He was offered by Penn State out of high school but ultimately settled on taking his talents to Tallahassee to play for the Seminoles.
Lytton spent two seasons at Florida State, playing in 22 games and making 1 start. He is credited with 28 tackles during his career.
Per 247Sports, Lytton left the Florida State program in February 2020 and began taking classes at a community college. He will start classes at Penn State on Monday.
Lytton will have two years of eligibility remaining for the Nittany Lions. He joins a team that ended the 2020 season with a 4-5 record, winning the final four games of the year.
