Michigan up to 12 commits in 2022 class after landing pair of pledges Friday

Michigan’s 2022 recruiting class continues to grow. Jim Harbaugh and his staff picked up a pair of verbal commitments on Friday, bringing the total up to 12 pledges for the cycle.

California linebacker Kevonte Henry and Connecticut offensive tackle Alessandro Lorenzetti both committed to Michigan on Friday, becoming the latest additions to the class. Both made their announcement with a post on Twitter.

Henry is listed as a 3-star linebacker who ranks as one of the Top 100 players at his position and Lorenzetti is considered one of the Top 100 offensive tackles in the class. Below are the commitment messages from both:

Henry is listed at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, according to 247Sports. He held a dozen offers on the recruiting front, picking Michigan over Arizona, Arizona State, Kansas, Oregon, USC, Utah and Washington State at the Power 5 level.

Lorenzetti is a 6-foot-6 offensive lineman who is listed as the No. 1 overall player out of Connecticut. He also received multiple offers, but the Wolverines edged out Michigan State, Baylor, Duke, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Syracuse, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.

Since the start of June, Michigan has added five new members to its 2022 class. The Wolverines currently own the B1G’s No. 4 class and sit No. 13 nationally.
